SUMTER, S.C. - Two people have been charged with murder in the death of a 30-year-old man in Lee County.
Deputies told The Sumter Item that both men arrested had problems with the victim.
Authorities say Jessie Slater III was found dead on a walking path Monday night. He had been shot in the thigh and bled to death.
Investigators say 28-year-old Antonio Wilson had argued with Slater over a beating, while 21-year-old Marquis Boyd had argued with Slater over money.
Both Wilson and Boyd remain in jail. It wasn't known if they have attorneys.
