COLUMBIA - Several dozen military members and their spouses from across the state are joining South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley in proclaiming a special day for military spouses.
Haley and Adjutant Gen. Robert Livingston are presenting a proclamation declaring Friday as Military Spouse Appreciation Day.
The ceremony is scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday in the Statehouse lobby.
South Carolina National Guard spokeswoman Maj. Cindi King says military representatives and spouses are coming from Army, Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy installations around the state to attend.
