COLUMBIA, S.C. - A contractor with South Carolina's disabilities agency has been charged with breach of trust.
The State Law Enforcement Division says 39-year-old Edwina Perteich Jackson was arrested Wednesday.
Starting in 2009, police say Jackson was working with the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs to provide and support employment services for a specific program. Authorities say agency auditors found invoices from the program's operating account that showed payments to Jackson for personal expenses of more than $10,000.
Court records listed no attorney for Jackson. She faces up to 10 years in prison if she is convicted.
