A North Charleston man told police he was sleeping in his apartment when two men crawled in through a window, demanded money and hit him in the head.
Officers were called to the Reserve at Ashley River Apartments at 6520 Dorchester Road shortly before noon Thursday, North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Pryor said. The resident told officers he was able to break free and run out the rear door after the altercation. It was not immediately determined if anything was taken.
Both suspects were described as light-skinned black men with short hair. One was tall and skinny, in his mid 20s and wearing a red shirt. The other was short, in his early 20s and wearing a black shirt.
