A Summerville man is suspected of breaking into as many as 10 vehicles in the Sangaree area, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office.
Brian Daniel Coglaiti, 32, of Keowee Court was charged with breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property in connection with one of the break-ins, with more charges pending, sheriff's spokesman Dan Moon said Thursday.
Numerous break-ins were reported late Tuesday and early Wednesday. Some of the stolen items were found in the Coglaiti's vehicle, which appeared to be abandoned in front of a house on Ruffin Road in Sangaree, Moon said.
A neighbor of one of the victims described a suspicious man who was spotted earlier in the evening. Deputies spotted Coglaiti in the vicinity of the break-ins; he matched the description and was taken into custody, Moon said.
Coglaiti was being held in the Berkeley County jail.
