Our photo theme "Games We Play" drew a smaller than usual number of submissions, but an interresting mix.
The editors' consensus for the pick of the week was this photo taken by Jake Pretko. He shot the image of two teams playing the Irish sport of hurling at the Danny Jones Recreation Complex in North Charleston.
Pick up a copy of Friday's Post and Courier to read what they liked about it the most. It will be in the People section.
We also saw a few others that are candidates for the annual My Charleston magazine. That selection process is ongoing and we'll know more as we get closer to the August publication date.
Next week's assignment is also tied to My Charleston magazine. If you'd like yours to be included please tell us in your email. Also, because we may use it in the magazine, please supply the name of anyone prominently featured in your photo. The assignment: Lowcountry Beaches.
- Send just one (1) photograph to firstname.lastname@example.org by noon on Tuesday, May 13. Include your name, town and where the photo was taken. If you send us multiple photos we will select one randomly.
- We will allow photographs with reasonable watermarks to run in the gallery but for the winning photo that runs in the newspaper we must have a photo that does not have a watermark. If you want to send us one with the watermark (to run online) and one without (to possibly run in the newspaper) please feel free.
