Charleston Battery goalkeeper Odisnel Cooper was named Player of the Week in the USL Pro Division.
Cooper, who helped the Battery to two victories, recorded back-to-back shutouts against Dayton and Harrisburg City this past weekend.
Cooper recorded eight saves in the two victories including six saves in a 2-0 win against the Dayton Dutch Lions on Sunday night. The Cuba native made two saves against Harrisburg City in the Battery's 4-0 win on Friday night.
The Battery jumped eight spots in the USL Pro standings with the two victories and now sit in fourth place in the league.
Joining Cooper on the USL Pro Team of the Week is forward Omar Salgado, who had a goal in each of the Battery's victories. The Vancouver Whitecaps FC, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft, opened the scoring in Charleston's win against Harrisburg on Friday night as he deftly chipped a ball past the Harrisburg keeper and then powered home the Battery's second goal against Dayton to wrap up all three points late.
