Charleston police responded Tuesday morning to a report of an armed robbery on the peninsula.
According to Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis, a man reported being robbed of lottery tickets and an unknown amount of money while in the area of 51 Reid St. shortly before 7:30 a.m.
The man was also assaulted during the robbery, Francis said, and was transported to Medical University Hospital for treatment.
The extent of his injuries was not immediately available.
