A pair of diamond rings worth a total $15,000 disappeared from a Summerville jewelry store last week after two women switched them with fakes, police report.

Summerville police on Tuesday released surveillance images of two women who perused Kim's Fine Jewelry store on April 28 when the theft is said to have occurred. The store is located at 1216 North Main St.
According to an incident report, one of the store's clerks placed a display of rings on a counter for the women to browse.
Employees later discovered that two engagement rings had been replaced with fakes, police said.
A 1.5 karat diamond ring with a 14 karat gold band was reported stolen, according to the report. The ring was worth $11,500, police said. A description of the other ring was not immediately available, but police said it was worth $3,500.
