A paper machine at the KapStone Paper and Packaging mill in North Charleston caught fire Friday morning, according to North Charleston Fire Department officials.
Firefighters received the call at 2:13 a.m. and responded to the Virginia Avenue site.
The KapStone Fire Brigade had contained the blaze to the machine that caught fire and North Charleston firefighters assisted them with extinguishing it, officials said.
No one was reported injured, according to authorities. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The paper mill runs three paper machines and operates a 100-megawatt power generating facility at the plant, according to the company's website.
