A narcotics investigation led to the arrest of two people Thursday after police searched a West Ashley apartment and found heroin and cash, according to a news release from the Charleston Police Department.
Members of the department's Special Investigations Unit and Team 4 officers executed a search warrant at a residence at Charleston Arms Apartments on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard. Police found about five bundles of heroin and $375 in cash, the release said. A bundle contains about 1.5 grams of heroin, police spokesman Charles Francis said.
Quintin Lamar Grant, 50, and Charmon Demetria McDaniel, 43, both of Sam Rittenberg Boulevard, are each charged with possession of heroin with the intent to distribute. They were being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.
The narcotics investigation is ongoing, the release said.
