A medical supply distributor will build a new facility in Rock Hill, bringing 140 jobs.
McKesson Medical-Surgical Inc. will invest $27.5 million in the new 300,000-square-foot center with plans to open during the first half of 2015.
The Richmond, Va.-based company will distribute medical and surgical supplies to physician offices, surgery centers, long-term care facilities and home care businesses in a regional service area that includes the Carolinas. The York County facility also has the flexibility to expand over time as the company grows.
An affiliate of McKesson Corp., the medical supplier is ranked 14th on the Fortune 500 list and delivers more than 180,000 health care products, equipment and technology options to nearly 200,000 customers nationwide.
"York County is well located to efficiently serve our customers in the region," said Stanton McComb, president of McKesson Medical-Surgical. "Also, this is a great opportunity to match the strength of the state's infrastructure and labor force with our strong growth."
