A wing commander at the Charleston Air Force Base has been selected for promotion to the rank of brigadier general in the Air Force.
Col. Darren E. Hartford is currently serving as Wing Commander with 437 Airlift Wing at Joint Base Charleston. He has served in the military for 24 years.
Hartford's follow-on assignment is to be commander of the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing, Air Combat Command, Southwest Asia.
The 437th wing change of command is slated for May 22.
His replacement will be Col. Johnny D. Lamontagne.
