Authorities in two area jurisdictions were investigating reports of alleged meth labs Wednesday.
Late Wednesday evening, a reported lab was being investigated by North Charleston officials at the Relax Inn on Ashley Phosphate Road.
A person answering the inn's telephone said about 50 people were milling around while the investigation was underway.
"No smoke, no fire, no nothing," he said.
He reported seeing a female in an ambulance, while a male was taken into custody.
Earlier in the day, a lab was reportedly discovered in the vicinity of Moncks Corner. Local police officials did not immediately respond to inquiries.
