Post player Nadi Beciri of Bergen Catholic High School in Hackensack, N.J., has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at The Citadel.
Beciri, 6-7 and 225 pounds, averaged 18.5 points and 12 rebounds for his 20-5 team last season, leading Bergen Catholic to a top 25 ranking in New Jersey. His verbal commitment was reported last week.
"I am very excited to have Nadi Beciri as a part of The Citadel family," said Citadel coach Chuck Driesell. "Nadi is a hardworking, physical post player who is solid around the basket, competes and is athletic. In addition to being a very good basketball player, he is a terrific young man and an outstanding student."
Beciri earned first team honors for the Big North Conference and was selected to the All-North Jersey squad. He is the second player in the Bulldogs' latest recruiting class, joining 6-4 shooting guard Jake Wright of Minnetonka, Minn. Both will report to The Citadel this fall.
