One teenager was killed and another injured in a shooting in North Charleston on Monday, according to the North Charleston Police Department.
Shortly before 6 p.m., officers were called to Sorentrue Avenue, where they found a 15-year-old male lying in the yard with gunshot wounds. A second teenager with a gunshot wound in the lower leg was brought to the scene by friends, according to police.
Both were transported to the Medical University, where the 15-year-old was pronounced dead. His identity was not available on Monday.
According to witnesses, four teenaged males were on bicycles at the corner of Sorentrue Avenue and Accabee Road when a gold SUV stopped near South Allen and Sorentrue Avenue.
A black male wearing black pants, white t-shirt and red ball cap got out of the back of the vehicle and begin shooting at the victims, hitting the two teens, police said.
After the shooting, the suspect fled towards Dorchester Road, police said.
