Heavy rain that is expected to continue through the night has already closed some streets in downtown Charleston.
As of 9 p.m., Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis said the following streets were closed: Ashley Avenue north of Fishburne, Bogard Street from the Crosstown, Ashley Avenue between Bennett Street and Halsey, and one lane on Hagood around Fishburne.
The Crosstown had some pooling but all lanes were open and passable at 9 p.m. Francis said.
