A driver was killed when a car wrecked in the rain on S.C. Highway 61 Friday, according to the Highway Patrol.
A 2000 Saturn four-door was going west on S.C. 61 in Dorchester County when the car ran off the right side of the road and hit a tree about 6:10 p.m., according to the report. Troopers said the driver was not wearing a seat belt and was killed.
The Coroner's Office did not immediately release the identity.
A 10-year-old passenger was wearing a seat belt and was taken to Medical University Hospital.
The report noted that it was raining at the time of the wreck.
