A container ship involved in a minor collision with another vessel in Chesapeake Bay earlier this week still plans to call on Port of Charleston this weekend, an official said.

The MSC Charleston is planned to call on State Ports Authority's Wando Welch Terminal in Mount Pleasant on Sunday, a day later than initially scheduled, according to Erin Pabst, a spokeswoman for SPA.

Pabst added that the schedule could change.

The Coast Guard reported high winds resulted in the collision of a 79-foot-long rig carrier and the 1,065-foot MSC Charleston on Tuesday about 7 p.m.

The Coast Guard reported that there were no injuries or pollution as a result of the incident.

As of this morning, MSC Charleston was tied up at the Seagirt Marine Terminal in Baltimore, according to MarineTraffic.com.
