Two former South Carolina football players are "wanted for questioning at the very least" regarding a New York City nightclub incident April 11, according to the gossip website TMZ.
TMZ, citing anonymous sources, reported Tuesday there was a fight in the VIP section of Greenhouse nightclub Friday involving a club promoter who allegedly suffered "extensive facial injuries." Citing anonymous officials, TMZ also reported former South Carolina defensive tackle Kelcy Quarles and cornerback Victor Hampton were wanted for questioning.
Quarles and Hampton are no longer part of the Gamecocks football team. Both are expected to be selected in next month's NFL Draft. Their agent, Tory Dandy, did not return a voicemail left by The Post and Courier.
The NYPD told TMZ the investigation is "ongoing."
