FLORENCE, S.C. -- A man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after admitting he shot a woman after arguing with her at a party in Florence County.
The Morning News of Florence reports that 28-year-old Jason McCrea pleaded guilty but mentally ill on Monday to murder.
Prosecutors say McCrea has some mental problems, but an evaluation determined he knew right from wrong when he killed Alicia Johnson in November 2011.
Investigators say they have never determined the relationship between McCrea and Johnson, but the shooting happened after a party.
Johnson body was found in woods near Lake City.
