Dorchester District 2 recently updated its policy regarding foreign exchange students.
Under the policy:
Students must be high school aged and participating in a foreign exchange program designated by the U.S. State Department.
The district will accommodate no more than four total exchange students at each of the district's high schools in a given year.
Host families must reside within the boundaries of the district to place a student in one of the district's high schools.
Students will be placed in a junior (eleventh grade) homeroom for the full academic year.
Those interested in participating in the district's foreign exchange student program must submit a letter of interest by April 30 to: Elena Furnari, Director of High Schools, Dorchester School District 2, 102 Green Wave Blvd., Summerville, SC 29483.
