North Charleston police on Monday arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a 3-year-old boy.
David Shane Foster, 28, of Simmons Street in Mount Pleasant, is charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 11 and simple possession of marijuana, Charleston County jail records show.
According to an incident report, a human services specialist for the Orangeburg Department of Social Services contacted North Charleston police about the alleged assault, which is said to have occurred Feb. 2.
Foster was picked up on outstanding warrants while in Mount Pleasant on Erckman Street, police said.
He was held at the Charleston County jail pending a bond hearing.
