A Goose Creek woman was charged with attempted murder Saturday after an altercation with her boyfriend led to his stabbing, according to the Goose Creek Police Department.
Brandi Nichole Goodman, 28, of Brookstone Way, Goose Creek, was charged in connection with the stabbing of Andre Tarell Manigault, 28, of Harbour Lake Drive, Goose Creek, according to an incident report.
When police arrived at the apartment at about 11:30 a.m., they found Goodman kneeling over Manigault, who was lying face down on the floor with a stab wound in his left torso. Manigault told officers that Goodman had stabbed him, the report says.
Goodman told officers that she and Manigault were arguing when he hit her and then threatened her with a knife. She followed him to the master bedroom where she was able to get the knife away from Manigault and was swinging it when Manigault got cut, she said.
The knife was recovered in a box on the kitchen counter.
Officers did not believe that Goodman was telling the truth and arrested her attempted murder and transported her to the Goose Creek Police Department, the report says.
Goodman's sister took custody of her two children, who were also at home at the time of the incident, according to the report.
