Remix, the Charleston Symphony Orchestra's young supporters group, is teaming up with Quentin Baxter, music director at The Mezz Downtown for a night of genre bending.

Two sets will be played, at 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Wednesday, fusing classical and popular forms and featuring Baxter on drums, CSO Concertmaster Yuriy Bekker and several other jazz and classical musicians.

The Mezz is at 276 King St. (above Sermet's Restaurant). General admission tickets for table seating are $25. Dinner, snacks and drinks are available.

N. Charleston gallery shows jazz photographs

"See Jazz," a curated exhibit of photographs by Jazz Artists of Charleston's resident photographers, runs through the end of the month at North Charleston City Gallery, at the Charleston Area Convention Center, 5001 Coliseum Drive.

Parking and admission are free during regular Convention Center hours, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.

Photographs by Alice Keeney, Pricilla Thomas, Ben Williams and Reese Moore highlight the people, places and moments that have shaped Jazz Artists of Charleston and the Charleston Jazz Orchestra.

Also on display at the gallery is an exhibit by Susana Berdecio called "Discovering a Sense of Place," which features images of the Lowcountry landscape.
