A 33-year-old man was shot in the leg outside a Berkeley County nightclub Wednesday night, according to the Sheriffs Office.
Deputies were called to Larry's at Kitfield Drive and Vernon Lane about 8:30 p.m., according to the incident report. The area is north of Moncks Corner. A large crowd was in front of the club and a man was lying on the front steps with a gunshot wound in his right knee.
The man said he was standing across the street, trying to help a friend who had locked himself out of his car, when a red Mitsubishi with two men wearing camouflage masks pulled up. The passenger got out of the car and fired one shot, hitting him in the knee, he told deputies. He said his friend helped him over to the steps of the club.
The man who was shot did not provide a description of the gun or the suspects, nor did his friend, according to the report.
Deputies said they did not find a shell casing or blood evidence.
