COLUMBIA, S.C. -- A gun manufacturer in South Carolina is doubling its workforce with around 300 new jobs and a $4.2 million investment.
The Department of Commerce announced Thursday that Palmetto State Armory plans to renovate and expand its building in Lexington over the next three years as it adds the new positions.
Company officials say they employ 230 workers at present and expect to employ more than 500 workers upon completion of the 168,000-square-foot addition.
PSA officials say the expansion is due to increased product demand, in particular for its Palmetto State Armory AR-15 rifles, parts and accessories. The firm sells a wide range of other weapons, ammunition and outdoor supplies.
Applicants should email resumes to PSA's human resources director Kim Miranda at Kim.Miranda@palmettostatearmory.com.
