Charleston police this morning asked for the public's help identifying a man in connection with a burglary investigation.

According to Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis, a black man wearing an orange beanie was seen leaving a Meeting Street gas station around the time a stolen credit card was used at the store.

Surveillance cameras on Hanover Street near Knight's grocery store captured images of the man, Francis said.

The unidentified man isn't wanted on a warrant, Francis said, but detectives need to speak with him to move forward with their investigation.

According to an incident report, the stolen credit card was taken from an Ashe Street home March 27 during a burglary.

A woman reported several items missing from her home, including an Apple MacBook laptop and a purse that contained a wallet and several credit cards, police said.
