Charleston has ranked high on yet another top destinations list.
TripAdvisor, a website that hosts user reviews of hospitality businesses and travel destinations, has ranked Charleston No. 13 in its annual list of top-rated destinations in the United States. The Holy City climbed two slots from last year's ranking.
Southern destinations in general were more positively rated this year, according to the TripAdvisor report released Tuesday.
Houston moved up 13 slots to No. 12, just ahead of Charleston. Other Southern cities on the rise were Austin, Texas, New Orleans and Atlanta.
Cities were ranked based on average TripAdvisor user reviews and ratings for hotels, attractions and restaurants.
