North Charleston police on Sunday arrested a man accused of stabbing a teen in the back during a fight.
Paul Darnell Williams, 34, of Remount Road, is charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife during the commission of a violent crime, Charleston County jail records show.
Officers responded shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday to a home on Upjohn Road following reports of the stabbing, police said.
Witnesses reported to police that the stabbing occurred during a brawl between multiple families. An incident report did not specify what the conflict was about.
During the fight, Williams stabbed 16-year-old boy in the back, according to the report.
Paramedics transported the wounded teen to Medical University Hospital for treatment, police said.
Williams was being held at the jail Monday in lieu of a total $125,000 bail, jail records show.
