AIKEN, S.C. - Deputies say they found a burglary suspect in Aiken County because he gave a resident in the neighborhood he burglarized his home address.
Investigators say the neighbor stopped 46-year-old Michael Wallace last week after seeing him near one of the homes where a storage building was broken into and tools were stolen.
Deputies say Wallace told the resident he was looking for his lost dog. The neighbor asked Wallace his address to return the dog if it was found, and Wallace gave his home address.
Investigators went to Wallace's home and say they found the stolen tools there.
Wallace remains in jail. He is charged with two counts of third-degree burglary. It wasn't known if he had a lawyer.
