Another Democrat has entered the race challenging Republican U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham.
State Sen. Brad Hutto, D-Orangeburg, filed Friday. His candidacy sets up a primary with fellow Democrat Jay Stamper.
The addition comes as Republican U.S. Sen. Tim Scott also gained a GOP primary opponent in June.
Randall Young of Greenville filed Thursday.
The Democrats have a primary in that one too. Former York County Council member Sidney Moore filed Thursday. Moore will be opposed by Richland County Councilwoman Joyce Dickerson in the June Democratic primary. The winners will face American Party candidate Jill Bossi in November.
Scott has never run a statewide race. The former 1st District Congressman was appointed to the Senate seat in late 2012 to fill the unexpired term of U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint.
DeMint resigned the job to take a position as head of a conservative think tank.
