The remains of an old house fell on top of a worker who was tearing it down Thursday afternoon in Hanahan.
Part of the house at 6029B Tampa St. fell on the worker around 1:30 p.m. Charleston County's rescue squad, paramedics and North Charleston firefighters were called to the scene.
The injured worker was flown to Medical University Hospital for treatment, Hanahan Police Lt. Michael Fowler said.
The house was condemned after being found unsafe for human occupancy and beyond repair, Fowler said. The crew tearing it down had a demolition permit, he said.
