A house fire on Line Street shut down Rutledge Avenue at the Septima P. Clark Parkway on Wednesday afternoon.
A fire between Rutledge and Ashe streets was reported at 3:06 p.m., according to Ryan Kunitzer with the Charleston Fire Department. Heavy smoke was showing from the two-story duplex when crews arrived, he said.
The fire was put out quickly, but crews remained on scene checking for hot spots. No injuries were reported.
Investigators were trying to determine what caused the fire.
