The driver who was involved in a fatal crash in Berkeley County Saturday has been charged with felony driving under the influence.
Jamie Shuler, 32, was also charged with driving under suspension and an open container violation, according to Berkeley County jail records. She was booked Sunday after being treated at a hospital Saturday night.
James Shuler, 67, of Jamestown died in the wreck near Jamestown. He was a passenger in the 2004 Chevy pickup that Jamie Shuler was driving, according to the Highway Patrol.
The pickup and a 2008 GMC Yukon were both going north on S.C. 45 when the Yukon tried to turn left into a driveway shortly before 7 p.m., according to the Highway Patrol. The pickup sideswiped the Yukon, sending both vehicles into a ditch.
The driver of the Yukon was wearing a seatbelt and was taken to a hospital for treatment, according to the Highway Patrol. Two others were also injured in the crash, according to the coroner's office.
Neither occupant of the pickup was wearing a seatbelt, according to the Highway Patrol.
