In terms of clout, the chief residential real estate agency in one of the more popular communities in metro Charleston landed a one-two punch recently.

Daniel Island Real Estate, considered the top selling agency on the island, disclosed that it has affiliated with two "prestigious real estate networks."

The company plans to expand its scope and extend its reach as a real estate firm through its connections with the groups, Luxury Real Estate and Leverage Global Partners.

As a member of each network, Daniel Island Real Estate says it will be touted as the "premier authority" on the island among luxury real estate agents and property buyers worldwide.

"It is an honor to be joining these two networks of elite industry peers," says Rick Vale, broker-in-charge of Daniel Island Real Estate. "These affiliations would not be possible without the hard work of our team," he says.

Luxury Real Estate, known since the mid-1980s as a "who's who" of fine homes around the globe, showcases a collection of top-notch luxury real estate brokers. To join, agencies must list and sell in the top 10 percent of their market and "demonstrate proven expertise in the marketing and sale of luxury properties," according to Daniel Island Real Estate.

The network counts representatives in more than 85 countries and sells more than $190 billion of real estate a year. For more information, visit

Leverage Global Partners, meanwhile, focuses on relocation needs of home sellers and buyers in the U.S. and across the globe.

The network "aligns the most prestigious independent real estate brokerage firms from around the world - only one exclusive member per community - creating a global network of professionals" involved in helping people move to new regions, states and countries, Daniel Island Real Estate notes.

Leverage Global Partners network members are vetted for their "high standards of exceptional client service, local market expertise and presence," the Charleston real estate company says.

The network ties were announced at the same time a host of Daniel Island Real Estate agents earned top local honors.

"We're particularly proud of their achievements in this year's local Realtors of Distinction awards," Vale says.

Administered by the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors, the "Realtors of Distinction" prizes highlight the best-selling agents in the area. According to Daniel Island Real Estate, eight of its 11 sales associates were cited for ranking among the top 10 listing and selling agents on the island.

They are Carey Tipple, Brian Connolly, Brenda Cook, Meg Latour, Angie Johnson, Rick Horger, Meryl Cromarty and Sally Castengera.

Realtors of Distinction make up the top 10 percent of Charleston area Realtors performing in specific markets such as Daniel Island. In addition, seven of the agency's sales associates placed among the top 10 percent of the 4,000 Realtors throughout greater Charleston.

Daniel Island Real Estate leads in residential sales on the island, which is located in the city of Charleston and in Berkeley County.

The agency says it offers "the largest inventory of new and resale homes, home sites, townhomes and condominiums" in a territory consisting of the entire 4,000-acre master planned community. Daniel Island sits on both sides of Interstate 526 about 20 minutes from downtown Charleston.

An affiliate of the island's master developer, Daniel Island Real Estate "focuses exclusively on Daniel Island property," the company says.

Its sales office, which overlooks the Wando River, stands out as the only real estate office on the island. It's a "first stop for visitors seeking information about Charleston's island town," according to the company.
