The College of Charleston will face Northern Kentucky in the second round of the Women's Basketball Invitational at 7 p.m. Saturday at TD Arena.
The Cougars (18-14) advanced to the quarterfinals of the WBI by beating USC Upstate, 85-71, Thursday night in the opening round behind a 21-point performance from senior guard Alyssa Frye and 17 points from center Mikaela Hopkins.
North Kentucky (18-12) beat McNeese State, 84-72, in its opening-round game as senior Kayla Thacker finished with a career-high 25 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
The Cougars defeated Northern Kentucky, 72-70, in the WBI a year ago.
