A Eutawville woman surrendered to North Charleston police Wednesday to face accusations that she helped rob a man who called her seeking sexual favors.

Soni Suncerea Wells, 25, of Fountain Lake Drive, is charged with armed robbery in connection with the incident, Charleston County jail records show.

North Charleston police responded to a Sunoco gas station on Rivers Avenue around 1 a.m. March 2 after a 21-year-old man called to report the robbery.

Speaking through an interpreter, the Hispanic man told police that a friend gave him a phone number for a woman he could call to receive sexual favors.

The man dialed the woman's number and uttered one word in English, "business," according to an incident report. The woman questioned whether he meant he wanted her business. He responded, "yes," police said.

A woman arrived at the man's Midland Park Road home shortly before midnight. He walked with her to his bedroom and proceeded to take off all of his clothes.

The woman started to pull her pants down, the man told police, but stopped and abruptly yelled out something in English to a second woman who was waiting outside.

The second woman barged into the home, grabbed the man's clothes and his wallet, containing $450 in cash, a Mexican identification card, a Visa card and a key to the residence, the report stated.

The pants-less man chased after both women as they ran outside, but he was confronted by a man who placed an object, possibly a knife, against his chest, the report said.

All three suspects fled from the scene in a green Ford Explorer, police said.

Wells surrendered to police on an armed robbery charge, it was not immediately clear how they identified her as a suspect. She was being held at the jail on Thursday pending a bond hearing.

The other two suspects had not been arrested as of Thursday morning, police said.

They are described as a black woman in her mid twenties, around 5 feet 2 inches tall, 165 pounds, with brown eyes and straight shoulder-length black hair, and a black man in his mid twenties, around 5 feet 5 inches tall, 165 pounds with brown eyes and short hair. Both were dressed in black clothing, police said.
