The Charleston County Coroner's Office has identified the man whose body was found floating next to a boat at a West Ashley marina Wednesday morning.
He was identified as Mark Odum, 53, of Walterboro. The cause of death was still under investigation, Deputy Coroner Dottie Linidsay said.
Odum was president of U.S. Waste Industries, an environmental services company, according to the Walteboro Press and Standard. The newspaper said a family member had confirmed it.
Odum was an avid hunter, fisherman and boater, according to photos posted on the company's Facebook page.
Charleston police were called to marina on Ripley Point Drive about 9:30 a.m. The marina is on the Ashley River off S.C. Highway 61.
