A vehicle that was found submerged at Penny Creek boat landing in Adams Run had been stolen, Charleston County sheriff's deputies said.
Authorities were notified about the vehicle at 9100 Penny Creek Road shortly before 8 a.m., Sheriff's Maj. Eric Watson said.
The submerged vehicle was unoccupied when authorities arrived at the scene. According to Watson, the vehicle's owner reported that it had been stolen.
The situation remains under investigation, Watson said.
