A Ladson man has been charged with committing a lewd act on a minor, according to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.
Demetrius Lonell Woodard, 38, of Elderwood Drive in Ladson was arrested on Friday and charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor first degree and committing or attempting a lewd act upon a child under 16.
The minor said she was molested over a two year period when living with her mother and the suspect, according to an incident report. The victim, who now lives with her grandmother, said the assaults occurred when she and the suspect were home alone.
Woodard is being held at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center. A bond hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday.
