The NFL's free-agency period doesn't even start until Wednesday, but former Citadel standout receiver Andre Roberts already has locked up his next job.
Roberts, a 2009 graduate of The Citadel, has agreed to a four-year contract worth $16 million with the Washington Redskins, multiple reports said Tuesday. Half of that money is guaranteed, according to CBSSports.com
Roberts played four years with the Arizona Cardinals before becoming a free agent. Last season, he caught 43 passes for 471 yards and two touchdowns.
His best season in Arizona was in 2012, when he caught 64 passes for 759 yards and five TDs. For his career, the 5-11, 195-pound Roberts has 182 catches for 2,123 yards and 11 touchdowns.
In Washington, Roberts will play with quarterback Robert Griffin III as a counterpart to wideout Pierre Garcon.
