Two men were shot as they exchanged gunfire with security guards at a Dorchester County nightclub early Sunday, according to an incident report.
No one had been charged as of Monday afternoon.
Security guards of Club Rehab on Dorchester Road told investigators they heard shots being fired outside the club at 1:58 a.m., according to the report.
The guards were identified in the report as Alfred Asher, 31, of James Island, and Jonathan Lee Lewis, 33, of North Charleston.
The guards told investigators they drew their weapons as they searched the parking lot for any shooters, the report stated.
The guards saw two men standing outside a car, and one of the men, identified in the incident report as Akeem Asby, 25, of Wando, was holding a gun, according to the report.
Asby refused the guards' orders to put the gun down, and the guards opened fire on him, the report stated. Asby suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to Medical University Hospital. His condition remains unknown.
Another man, identified in the report as Pernell Edwards, 23, of Hanahan, suffered a bullet graze on his leg but refused treatment by EMS, according to the report.
Dorchester County sheriff's officials declined further comment, saying the case is an active investigation.
