Mr. and Mrs. James Johnson, Jr. James Boyd Johnson, Jr. and Elizabeth Lane Johnson of Goose Creek, SC, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on February 26, 2014. Upon returning from serving as a Navy medic in WWII, Jim began his career at Swift and Company where he and Libby met. Jim and Libby were married by their preacher in his home and as a wedding gift; they purchased their first home for $4,000 in Norfolk, VA. Through the years they have lived in Virginia, Texas, Georgia and South Carolina and now happily call Goose Creek their home where they are close to their grandchildren. Jim retired from Swift and Company and Libby retired from the Federal Government. Jim still loves to garden and share all of his vegetables with family and friends. Libby loves to play games on her iPad while Jim is reading and they both love to travel and do so often with their daughter Cindy. Their children are: Cheryl Carawan (Tom) of Sterling, VA; James Johnson (Beth) of Ridgeville, SC; Cindy Johnson of Virginia Beach, VA; Craig Johnson of Summerville, SC, and Christi Van Slooten (Chad) of Ravenel, SC. They have 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Their loving family congratulates them on 65 wonderful years! Happy 65th Wedding Anniversary! 1949 2014
