You can't get too far from H2O at one well-appointed house off Rifle Range Road in Mount Pleasant.

"When you are in the master, you feel like you are on the water," says Leigh Brandenburg, Realtor with AgentOwned Realty and listing agent for 1187 Waterfront Drive.

The Hidden Lakes community sports a boatyard and an Olympic-sized swimming pool (as well as a clubhouse and tennis courts). And if that's not enough water, the Atlantic Ocean ebbs and flows 10 minutes away on the Isle of Palms.

The two-story 3,332-square-foot residence lists on the market for $799,000.

"I think this home would really appeal to a growing family," Brandenburg says. The four-bedroom, three-and-a-half bath residence would attract families with 7- or 8-year-olds but "probably not very young children," she notes.

At the same time, the house provides features for just a husband and wife. "I think it would appeal to empty nesters," Brandenburg says.

There's an abundance of wildlife nearby, Kris Portenier says. She and her husband Jack own the house. They've seen osprey, blue heron, anhinga, egret and otters. Across the lake stands a grove of trees that should remain for many years. The Hidden Lakes homeowners association owns and maintains a 50 foot buffer on that side of the canal.

Another perk involves the outdoor water supply that's used, for instance, to sprinkle the lawn and plants, Portenier says. "There is a watering system maintained by the subdivision. All the water is from the lake."

In her listing flyer, Brandenburg points out other highlights. The upscale Towne Centre shopping plaza resides just a few minutes from Hidden Lakes.

The house stands on the northern side of Hidden Lakes. Heading north on U.S. Highway 17, travel across the overpass at Bowman Road and beyond Towne Centre to the Isle of Palms Connector. Turn right and go to the second traffic light at Rifle Range Road. Make a right on Rifle Range. Proceed less than a mile to Hidden Lakes on the right. Turn on Hidden Lakes Drive, then take a right on Waterfront Drive. Ahead on the right is 1187 Waterfront Drive.
