The Bishop England girls' basketball team picked up its 12th playoff victory in 13 games over the last three years with a 76-38 Lower State Class AA victory over Battery Creek Tuesday.
The Bishops are bidding for their third straight appearance in the state title game, and they can advance to the big dance in Columbia with a victory over Dillon. Tipoff is at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Florence Civic Center.
The Bishops, No. 1 in the state with a 25-1 record, won their first state title in 2012 and were runners-up last March.
It was the Bishops' third win over the year over Battery Creek. They beat them 67-43 and 71-53.
Michel Boykin led the Bishops with 36 points, eight assists and six steals while Mary Harriet Moore collected 16 points and 17 rebounds while blocking three shots.
The Bishops led 30-17 at halftime and outscored the Dolphins 26-13 in the third quarter to crush any hope of a comeback.
Daisja Cannon led Battery Creek with 18 points.
