Charleston police on Tuesday arrested a 19-year-old accused of shooting another person in the hip on Monday.
Antwon Rashad Brown, of North Sherwood Drive in Charleston, is charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, Charleston County jail records show. Brown was being held at the jail Tuesday pending a bond hearing.
Brown was pulled over and arrested during a traffic stop on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard around midnight Tuesday, eight hours after the shooting, Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis said.
Charleston police responded Monday to South Sherwood Drive and Argonne Street following reports of shots fired. One person was driven to a hospital in a private vehicle after being shot in the hip, police said.
The shooting remains under investigation, Francis said.
