Four schools in the Goose Creek area were put on administrative lockdown Monday afternoon while authorities investigated a report of someone nearby with a gun.
Goose Creek High School, Sedgefield Intermediate, Sedgefield Middle and Howe Hall AIMS were closed to traffic around noon for about 20 minutes, said Berkeley School District spokeswoman Susan Haire. Each school notified parents using the district's parent notification system, she said.
The schools were locked down after somebody reported seeing somebody with a gun in a neighborhood near the schools, Berkeley County Sheriff's Office spokesman Dan Moon said. Nobody with a gun was found, he said.
