The Citadel has announced four additions to new football coach Mike Houston's first recruiting class, including fullback Evan McField of Goose Creek High School.
McField, 6-0 and 200 pounds, made a last-second switch from South Carolina State to The Citadel on national signing day Feb. 5. He rushed for 1,200 yards and 13 touchdowns as a senior and was an all-region pick.
The other new signees are:
. Linebacker DaSean Daniels (5-11, 220) from Lawrenceville, Ga. He had 93 tackles and three sacks as a senior at Greater Atlanta Christian in 2012. He originally signed with Navy out of high school, over offers from Georgetown and Colgate, and spent a year at the Naval Academy Preparatory School.
. Defensive back Jordan Scott (6-0, 180) from South Aiken High School. Scott played for Citadel graduate Jeremy West at South Aiken, where he had 86 tackles and eight pass break-ups as a senior and made all-region in basketball four times.
. Defensive end Javion Duncan (6-0, 255) from Woodmont High School. Duncan had 16 sacks and 20 tackles for loss last season, was twice named all-region and was his team's defensive MVP for three years, starting 44 straight games.
The four signees brings Houston's first recruiting class to 21 players officially announced, so far.
