South Carolina Federal Credit Union will award three college scholarships worth a total of $7,500 in its fourth annual scholarship competition.
The first place recipient will receive $4,000, second place will win $2,500 and third will earn $1,000. The online application will be available through March 14 at www.smplsc.com/scholarship.
Applicants must submit an application, transcript, letter of recommendation and written essay. Students will be asked to demonstrate how the credit union's cooperative philosophy of "People Helping People" has affected their lives.
Submitted applications will be reviewed by the credit union's scholarship committee, and winners will be selected based on academic performance, school and community involvement, recommendations from school and community leaders and financial need.
Scholarship winners will be announced by April 15.
